TRADITION IN THE FASTING MONTH
Fasting is a voluntary action by abstaining from food, or all, drink, or both, for a period of time. Fasting is usually defined as the absolute abstinence from all food and liquids for a certain period, usually one day (24 hours), or a few days. Others may just limit the fasting part, to limit certain foods or substances. The practice of fasting can prevent sexual and other activities as well as food.
Fasting is often done in order to perform the worship in a religion or any obligation that should be done according to his beliefs or His religion of Man.
In Islam, fasting (also called shaum), conducted over a full month, the month of Ramadan and concludes with the Feast of Lebaran, refrain from eating and drinking, and from all actions that may break the fast as actions that are not either included in the words , do not fight, keep the mindset, the passions, and also to exercise patience, from dawn until sunset with the intention.
